The Death Star Is Complete And Fully Operational

If there was any doubt before there shouldn’t be any now. Book it and Lock it the New England Patriots will win the Super Bowl this season. They are the blue print on how to build a team to win championships. The Patriots getting Randy Moss for a 4th round pick is like stealing candy oh yeah lets not forget he is reworking his contract . Hey nice work Green Bay offering a 6th round pick way to get help for Farve in his final season ( we think ) . Just a little more food for thought on this , the Patriots don’t need Moss. So should this go wrong it’s all on him he finally has the QB that will get him the ball and if he messes that up it’s his own fault.

Bronx Beatdown Red Sox Win 11-4

Guess what kids the Red Sox beat down the Yankees again 11-4 in NYC to take game one of the three game set. I was listening to the game on XM while I was at work and had to suffer through the Yankee broadcasters the whole game. That is a experience I could go with out again but XM only uses the home teams broadcasters .

The Sox jumped out to an early lead in this one with a Youkilis 2 run homer in the third inning. All was well at that point Matsuzaka was doing fine until he hit a wall in the fourth inning walking 3 straight batters then giving up hits to Posada,Damon and Jeter which plated 4 runs for the Yankees. Whats funny during this time the Yankee broadcasters on the radio started talking about how AJ Burnett just owned the Yankees the night before and how much harder he was throwing the ball than Matsuzaka. Dice-K would get out of the inning being down 4-2. The following inning Pettite hit the very same wall walking four batter himself allowing the Sox to capitalize and plate 3 runs in the fifth. At that point the flood gates opened Lugo hit a homer , Pedroia put his bat on the ball and got a double , Coco even got in on the action.

The Joe Torre Fire Pool

When is Joe Torre gonna get fired ? You know it’s gonna happen sometime this season. I say he gets canned before the all-star break. The Red Sox Yankees play 9 more times before the break and unless they win 6 out of those 9 games I say he’s done. If the Yankees are 8 games out within the next week he’s out. So pick a date and leave it in the comments and we can monitor the situation.

Sox Play Homerun Derby Win 7-6 And Sweep Yankees

Manny Ramirez

WOW ! Thats all I can really muster about the game tonight. I was supposed to go into work for some overtime tonight but something said stay home you already gave them 16hrs . So I stay home grab a seat on the couch to watch the game and began to put the hurting on a six pack of MGD……Hey I’m cutting back !

Tonight was the night everyone was really waiting for Dice-K’s first start against the hated Yankees at Fenway. How would he react ? Dice-K looked a little off kilter early in the game giving up early runs in the first and third innings. The Yankees were in this game most of the night even with the 4 count em 4 homers in a row by the Red Sox. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again ” The Yankees have NO PITCHING “. I’ve never heard of some of the guys they trotted out there this weekend. When you have to bring Andy Pettitte in to pitch an inning on Sunday after starting Friday thats a huge sign you have no pitching to include no bullpen.

Everyone was swinging a live bat tonight to include Pedroia……..Yeah Pedroia ! Everyone chipped in tonight one way or another. Weather it was Lugo getting walked 3 times or the homerun derby in the third inning everyone was putting the bat on the ball. Willy Mo went 0-FOR on the night with 3K’s. No biggie I say this is because of lack of at bats. We all know he’ll start sending them out on Lansdowne street in no time. The only problem with starting Willy is you sacrifice defense in the field. We’ll just have to see how everything turns out in center and at second. It’s a long season and we’re only in April.

Thats all I got for right now it was a great game 4 HOMERUNS !!!!

Coco Steps Up Captain Tek Gets Hot Sox Win In Thriller To Beat Yanks 7-6

The Red Sox won in the first of 3 games being played at Fenway this weekend against the Yankees. I was at work during this game but thank God for XM Radio and Tivo. Last night just showed and proved to all sports fans that this is the biggest rivalry in sports. These games whether they are in April , mid August , or October always live up to the hype and last nights game proved it.

Schilling did not have his best stuff last night but Tek kept his head in the game and settled him down. Schilling went 7innings with 5runs 5ER 8H 1BB and 5K’s. Schilling was pulled in favor of Romero who promptly came in and gave up 3hits and a run. I have to be honest I was listening to this game and I was just as stunned and deflated as the crowd at Fenway when A-Rod kept stepping in the box and delivering. Look I’m a Red Sox fan but I sure can appreciate what A-Rod in doing this season.

Coco

Look I don’t wanna toot my own horn but didn’t I say these eighth inning runs were gonna come in handy. This game was all but won in the eighth inning and then the magic happened. I have to give major props to Coco Crisp who it seems is finally delivering 2hits and the game tying RBI triple oh yeah lets toss in his hustle in the field and Coco is on his way to being that player the Sox had hoped he would be for the team. I was one of the nay sayers on Coco but for now he is safe. I’ll devote my attention to Pedroia now who is absolutely not getting it done at the plate at all and that can’t be a good thing when you have someone breathing down his neck who can get it done. I know he’s a rookie and we gotta cut him some slack but come on something has to give on this right ?

All in all this was an exciting game and even more exciting listening to it on the radio. More to come on the entire series in the next post.

Oh Yeah Hideki Okajima is not in a Sox uniform to make Matsuzaka comfortable . Dude can pitch look at your new mid relief guy or set up man.
